Print a PDF with 4 Pages Per Sheet

HandoutPress lays out 4 PDF pages on one sheet, right in your browser — no upload, no signup. The tool below is preset to 4 pages per sheet: drop your file, check the live preview, and download a print-ready handout. Your file never leaves your device.

4 pages per sheet is the standard density for lecture notes and meeting packs: students keep slides readable at desk distance, lawyers and auditors condense long contracts to a quarter of the paper, and anyone distributing appendix-heavy reports stops carrying stacks of printouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 4 pages per sheet still readable?

Yes for slides and typical reports — each page occupies about a quarter of an A4 sheet, comparable to PowerPoint's built-in “4 slides” handout. For very dense legal text choose 2 pages per sheet; for quick review sheets, 6 or 9.

What paper size is the output?

The sheet is A4 (landscape for 4 pages). US Letter printers handle it fine — enable “fit to page” and the layout scales with margins preserved.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Yes. Pages are placed exactly as they are, so scans work the same as digital pages — the output is a print layout, not a text re-flow.

Can I add page numbers or borders?

Yes — toggle them in the settings above. Page numbers follow the original page order; borders help separate dense layouts. The preview updates live.

Is it free? Is my file uploaded?

Completely free, no signup. The PDF is processed in your browser and never uploaded to any server.
